Were you surprised by the emotional roller coaster that came with bariatric weight loss surgery?

Whether is the sleeve, the band, the DS, the switch, or the bypass, this journey is a very personal, and very emotional ride.  Our relationship with ourselves and our loved ones inevitably change, and sometimes we need help and support both before and after surgery day.  

As a fellow WLS patient, I definitely know of the drastic shift in my self-image and my self-identity.  Grappling with that along with the major change in how my loved ones and strangers related to me sometimes was just too much for me to manage alone.
